Decisions Decisions

I plan on going the premed route, and was wondering in general what the ideal "level" is...

For the sake of simplicity, I'll just use two examples, Johns Hopkins and say, Lehigh. Obviously Johns Hopkins is the more prestigious school. However, because of its higher rank it's bound to be harder to attain a high GPA, so my GPA there would be lower than at Lehigh. When applying to med schools, do they look more at what school you went to for undergrad, or the gpa you got? Am I better off going to a school that has average stats maybe slightly lower than mine, or a school that I "barely" get into? Better school and worses GPA or worse school and better GPA?

Try this question in the medical school admissions forum – you’ll probably get better answers there :).

This is a good question I’ve been wondering about as well…

Read through the other forums. This question comes up probably once a week or so and I don’t know if the debate ever comes to a conclusion.
