Decisions mailed!

Ooooh cool. Well, good luck! :) :D

That's right! Good luck, everyone! :)

As has been said already, good luck everyone! And as a mom, I have to tell you one more time...if it isn't Princeton don't worry. Your life still belongs to you to create. As an alumna, I have to tell you one more time...if it is Princeton, celebrate. It will be a wonderful, wonderful four years.

If Princeton feels right for you it is.

Princeton feels right for my D but the price doesn't feel right for me. I'm very apprehensive about spending that kind of $ when I have William & Mary and UVA in-state tuition in VA for a fraction of the price . . .

UVA is a great school and definitely hard to pitch the money. A few people on the UVA web site with case studies chose it over an Ivy League because it was too expensive.

AHHH, my parents have been getting on my case about financial stuff. They're concerned b/c I applied to several Ivies/top-tier schools. I even got into Amherst and Williams. They'd prefer for me to consider a state-school. Since I live in NY, they'd like me to opt for NYU or a SUNY school.

Being that we're from Colombia, my parents are a little out of the loop w/ how the whole college admissions and financial aid process works here in the U.S. What should I do? Should I make an appointment w/ my guidance counselor for my parents? Should I have them contact an admissions officer? For some reason, whenever I bring up EFC, they think I'm trying to get out of the responsibility of working and paying for my own education. At the risk of turning this into an advice column, PLEASE HELP!!

Thanks in advance!

-Jon ;) :D

Princeton only sends letters, I've heard.

Does anyone know what kind of method they use to send the letters? Like, I know the use the U.S. Postal Service, but is it overnight, priority, or anything?

I live in Norcal...I hope I get it by 4/1...

I'm getting mine later than all of you :( (AK)

Momokbt: I know exactly how you feel. Part of me wants my DD to be accepted at Princeton - she's worked so hard, the other part thinks a rejection would certainly make the financial decisions easier. State schools will be practically free with her merit awards and they have a good rep in her chosen major. What to pray for? I guess for the right door to open, for her wisdom to recognize it, and me to get out of the way.

but doesnt princeton offer one of the best finacial aid among top private universities?

I think Princeton is often recognized as THE best giver of financial aid among top universities. You can't beat their no loan policy!

Gee that's reassuring!! Haha... Now if only I get accepted!! ;)

Hm... I've heard some good things about Princeton Aid, heh.

On the other hand, Maryland's not too far from NJ. fingers crossed, anyone?
:-D

i have to disagree s'vrone. i'm getting NOTHING from Princeton. i'm just too d*mn rich. :(

Well, I've always heard that it's not possible to be too darn rich to get aid at an Ivy. Hmmm... I guess it depends (in part) on whether or not you have siblings concurrently planning to attend (top-tier) colleges (and many other factors of course).

In any case, good luck to you!! :)

Just letters. Apparently the internet is too dangerous for Princeton.

haha apparantly. After that fiasco with the apps in January, I wouln't trust it either.

i'm international. just called dhl to see if there was a package for me from princeton. there wasn't any. oh well, means i got rejected :( best of luck to you all

^ How did you do that? Just tell DHL your name and they will tell you if there's any mail for you?

And how do you know Princeton used DHL? I guess you'll be surprised if an acceptance letter comes from Fedex...or in the regular mail.

does anyone know when the internationals are emailed?
