I hope they pleasantly surprise us…

Ok, yeah that’s where I’ve been looking. I have the site bookmarked. It works when I use the bookmark but the link didn’t work for me either.

edit: wait it works again? At least for me it does.

mine is working. and i’m obviously crazy enough to have the mindset that the people it’s down for are the one’s who got in and if it works then we didn’t. like i said, crazy. ugh this is killing me i just want to know already. maybe it’ll be this week instead of 2 weeks…

they fixed it. mine wasn’t working before and is now, so don’t worry

it was working for me, and now it’s not working again…

^^ / can’t log in even when the screen comes up…

oh haha nvm now mine doesn’t work either

Seems to be working perfectly fine… if you all really want to know when site is down, check out this website:

[Down for everyone or just me?](http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/)

my friends neighbor is an admissions counselor and she said decisions will be online on january 30th.

…but i’ve still been checking everyday anyway haha xD

my decision online page did not load a few times when i was checking today but after some persistence i did in fact get to check it… unfortunately i did not see anything new (as expected). AH!

Does anyone know if that financial aid workshop on feb.2 meant anything or did everyone who apply receive one?

Has anyone tried to use that site on that workshop paper…because when i tried it says its not found?

It’s been down for me for a few days now. Curiously, I haven’t heard anything about a Financial Aid workshop…

I don’t know if it’s just wishful thinking, but if a college sends you an invitation to an event in Feb. and desicions come out in January, isn’t safe to say you been admitted on some level? I mean it seems pretty cruel to get a potential student’s hopes up…

All of my friends who applied got one of those, including me. I think they just send it out to everyone who applied. There’s no “hint” to be accepted until the real thing comes imo.

I haven’t gotten one either…? =/

Why would a school invite you to an event then send you a letter that would make the event irrelevant to you??? If it is true that they sent a letter to everyone then UMD needs to rethink their notification procedures.

The financial aid workshop would probably apply to anyone attending a university…since most of UMD’s financial aid is based on the federal process, I suspect there is a great deal of coverage of completing the FAFSA. The first time you and your parents go through this process (which is required at (almost?) every public U in the U.S. can be pretty time-consuming. (actually, every time is time consuming and a pain in the butt.) I do not know if there are any MD-specific financial aid processes, since we are OOS.

I would assume that they legitimately sent it out to everyone, since there wouldn’t be enough time after notification for people to find out about it, since it is early in Feb (and the date for completing the FAFSA for UMD is pretty early, as well). I wouldn’t read anything into it, and would not assume that if you did NOT get a letter that you won’t be accepted.

If you (and your parents) aren’t familiar with the FAFSA, I would urge you to go to the workshop, or at least one offered by the counselors at your high school. Also, there are Financial Aid forums here on CC that usually cover all kinds of questions. It can be very intimidating for first-time filers; and you have to do this every year you are in college.
You (and your parents) will need 2009 tax information to fill it out…which can be a challenge for some families within the time frame that the info is needed. (You can complete it with estimates and then revise based on the actual tax form final #'s if necessary).

If you hear directly from someone in the college or department (i.e. phone calls or letters from the dean, etc.) before you hear officially from UMD, then it’s pretty much a given that you’ve been admitted. Things sent from financial aid, or other “general” info should not be assumed to mean anything when it comes to your status. Relax, people…info will come soon! Good luck to everyone!

I didn’t get anything either.
