On the admissions decisions from the application status page, does it state if you were referred to Division of General Studies or not? I applied to Engineering and got rejected, but I have a hard time believing I was not at least referred for general studies since I seem to be near the 70th percentile of the school overall. Is the Division of General Studies referral Admit - Alternative Choice?

I'm just unsure of if I should appeal the decision for the Division of General Studies or not.

If rejected for first choice, they will consider you for DGS if you checked the box on the app. If on-line shows admission was denied, it won’t necessarily point out that you were considered for DGS even though you were. If site shows “Admit–Alternative Choice” that means you are admitted to DGS.

^Yeah, he is correct. You would have been considered for DGS if you checked the box on the application. If you had been admited to DGS it would have stated “Admit- Alternative Choice.” You may want to appeal the decision…
