to everyone who was deferred until final review:

i was in that same boat last year. my stats:
in-state
unweighted gpa: 3.4
weighted: 3.7
ACT- 27
Rank: top 24% at a very competitive private school.
I applied to LAS major Political Science.

My advice: Wait it out!! Start making arrangements to go to your backup school, fill out housing there, etc. That's what I did, and it was a good idea too because when the "final review" came along, I was wait listed. I figured I'd never get in, and was soo glad I had everything taken care of and ready to go at the other school. I accepted the waitlist offer, and was accepted 2 days before my high school graduation. I know a guy who got in in mid June. So just wait it out!

Sorry to hijack the thread, but does admissions do the same thing for transfers - will there be an admit or admit - college reviewed?

yes, there will be an admit/admit-college reviewed

I noticed that my pending status was removed from my application. However I can't find a decision on the application. Does that mean they have decided but have not yet released my decision to me?

They did the same thing with the priority deadline applicants. It's just the computer preparing to post the decisions on the 15th; nothing is wrong.

omg guys, check your email. They removed my decision but sent me an email congratulating me on getting in. Anyone else get this?

Yeah, I did.

It seems weird though, the title is Visit Illinois Video.

Is it a prank?

I didn't get anything, but I'm well qualified. Illinois must be sending e-mails as they complete decisions and not all at once. At least that would be my guess. After all, if they were really all done, they would have been posted on the website already, right?

Chrysalis and Sean can you please post your stats? what college you got into and everything, please. thank you. and congratulations to both of you, let's hope it's no prank.

That's for Computer Science.

I don't think it would be a "prank" but just a mistake if anything.

I got the same e-mail. I thought it was just another "come visit our campus" e-mail until I read it, and the first line said "Congratulations on your admission to Illinois!"

I got an email too.
I think it may be something they're sending anyone cause I really didn't have much faith I'd get in but just in case..

OOS (NV)

I'm a National Hispanic Scholar Finalist too if that matters at all.

nah i think it still means you got in, they just dont want to tell you that. the emails were probably ready to be sent and they sent a batch accidentally. but what do i know lol. anyways good luck to all!

I'd think it was a mistake. If your status isn't on the website, I would say the e-mail was an error.

no, email was not an error. I received the same one too.

Yea, the e-mail was not an error. I got the same thing and called the admissions office immediately, and they said that it was a mistake on their part but it does mean that yhou were accepted. She said the timing was a bit off and the emails were not supposed to go out until the 15th. So, congratulations to all!

I didn't get an email, does this mean I'm rejected? I was initially deferred from priority decision. is it possible they dont have my email? I searched my emails and never has Illinois ever sent me anything.

No, of course it does not mean that you were rejected!! The FEW emails that they sent out were an accident, so I am sure that there are people who got accepted but did not recieve the email. You still have a chance, so don't worry!
