I have a set of these on mine. I have rolled up kitchen towels in one, kitchen gadgets (potato masher, box grater type items) in another, pot holders and cork trivets in another, and one is full of cookie cutters and cupcake liners. I could fit 2 sets, one on the top and one on the bottom but prefer to also have some small appliances there like my slow cooker and fondue pot.

Ours looks like Bunsen’s, hinged two-door (lower only), can’t tell it’s a lazy susan. I keep all our plastic/container-ware and batter bowls in it, nothing heavy.
Interesting how we all use them.
I have onions and potatoes in baskets on the bottom one, not next to each other. In those empty corners, I keep bags of sugar and flour stacked up, out of the way. I also keep rice there, but I am going to relook at mine to see if there is any better way to set things up. At my DD’s idea, I traded one shelf of items for one drawer (grandkids plates and bowls in a drawer by the floor and the better efficiency allowed me to remove several items from the counter to the cupboard.
That’s what mine looks like! Definitely not big enough for a Turkey platter or crock pot…but holds a LOT of stuff.
Trying this again, hopefully in the right place. It’s been a long day. These are ours and the kitchen gets cleaned tomorrow.
Tell us more about the cat…
He’s the best! He’s our 11 year old and our jumper. As a kitten he used to jump from the floor to the top of the ceiling fan. Now he loves to curl up in my lap in the recliner.
I have one in a lower cabinet - I use it for storage jars, waffle maker, juicer, blender and food processor
This is how mine are as well. 3/4. Mind are made of wood. Also cannot tell there is a Lazy Susan in there.
Those are quite intriguing!
Mine doesn’t have a solid shelf in between as yours does. I would be less concerned about weight if it did.
Thanks for all the replies. I really feel as though I am not using the space in my kitchen as efficiently as I could be.
Right now I have storage containers, paper goods, my surplus of foil, cling wrap, parchment, trash bags, etc. All of my small appliances are already stored in cabinets. I just feel like my kitchen items (including food) are stored in a random, hodgepodge fashion. Maybe I should watch the Home Edit. I never did.
My corner cabinet/LazySusan looks similar to classicmom’s. Mine is in the corner with sink to the right then to the left, a set of drawers and then my stove. I do most of my prep on the counter space b/w the sink and stove so as a result, my corner LazySusan is full of cooking ingredients - the top houses a collection of spices and seasonings, arranged in alphabetical order, so as it turns, I can easily find what I’m looking for. The bottom holds all my oils, vinegars, Worcestershire, baking supplies like molasses, corn syrup, etc., basically anything that is taller. The alphabetizing was my mother’s idea when I moved in 25 years ago and she was helping me unpack. I can’t say I would have thought of that. Everything is right there to my right, within reach when I’m prepping, cooking or baking (my KA mixer sits on top of the counter in the same corner directly above my LazySusan).
My mother has a similar corner cabinet, but she uses hers for pots/pans, smaller appliances, etc. She doesn’t cook with as many ingredients as I do (I make a variety of ethnic foods that she doesn’t) so she has her cooking ingredients stored differently than I do.
I have a corner cabinet literally in the corner of the room. Think pie slice. It was a wasted space by the door and it made sense to put cabinets there. We put hats, gloves, shoes and shoehorns in it. It’s pretty useful.
In my new kitchen I opted for a dead space instead of the lazy Susan. I found it too hard to clean and I didn’t need the storage.
This thread is making me rethink how my kitchen is organized. I just have food on my lazy susan (much like classicmom’s, and it has the wooden shelf under top part of lazy susan).
Mine definitely isn’t as big a circle! I’d put small appliances there if it was!
Finally got around to taking photos. We have a lot of storage containers because husband thinks everything should be a perfect fit. He’ll move leftovers from a larger to a smaller container; I say that just makes more dishes.
I do use the corners for oversized seldom used containers and such.
