On the website, it says “First round notification: December 16, 2021.” Depending on your time zone, I’d say you can reasonably expect to be notified somewhere between the 15th and 17th. I think it would be safe to say that everyone should be notified by this time next week - and hopefully with good news 
There’s nothing to be done, but I’m still nervous. Stoicism works, theoretically!
I’m nervous too @descartes_fore_horse but I guess everyone is at this point 
I agree that being stoic about it works in theory - trying to rationalize everything works to a point but we can’t really control what we feel. The way that I think about it is that I have a ton of essays to write for finals and if everything goes as planned, then I’ll be spending all my time on the next set of DS essays. So, right now I’m pretty much distracting myself with all the work that I know I won’t have time for after tomorrow if things go well.

how are they going to let us know? will we receive a decision email or will they just send essays to the people who make it?
Since they didn’t write “Only accepted applicant will be notified” then I think we will receive a decision email
I really just want to know when. I’ve been checking this thread since I woke up this morning waiting to see if anyone got an email about it. I’m so nervous.

I’ve been applying for a few years and they send you a decision email regardless of the outcome. I haven’t ever made it to the second round so far, but a typical rejection email looks like this:
"Dear Applicant for the Deep Springs Class of 2019,
We hope this email finds you well. On behalf of the Application Committee, we thank you for your interest in Deep Springs and your commitment during the application process.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer you admission into the second round of the Deep Springs application process. The first round this year was an incredibly competitive one and we regret that we can only offer a limited number of personal interviews. We’re sure this may come as a disappointment to you. If you remain interested in Deep Springs, we encourage you to apply again next fall.
Due to the size of our application pool, we do not have the resources to review your application with you. However, if you have any questions unrelated to the content of your application, we would be happy to answer them. We wish you all a happy and rewarding new year, and thank you again for investing time in our application.

It’s currently just after 17:00 at DS so theoretically notifications should be sent out within the next seven hours. It’s good to remember though that DSers are still just teenagers so they aren’t flawless - I’m sure all of us have missed a deadline at some point in our lives so don’t be surprised if we don’t get notified until tomorrow.
I’ve heard some people have already been notified, and some people haven’t - let’s see what happens

ah man, well my hopes weren’t too high anyways. that’s probably a good sign that we didn’t make it. how do you know these people if you don’t mind me asking?

Hi all, I’m new here. I just received my admission into the second round!!! I’m not sure if this helps anyone, but if you’re curious:
Email sent, bcc’d, at 10:13pm in my time zone (EST).
My first initial is at the beginning of the alphabet and my last initial is the mid-end of the alphabet.

Yeah, my other two friends also got the email at the same time but both their names start with an E. Perhaps all the rest of us might have been rejected - but let’s not give up yet!
