If I look up online when High School seniors should apply to college, all I see is between September and December and that you should have all your test scores ready by October etc. But if I go to UCF’s website and look at their undergraduate admissions, I see the deadline is March 1st for Summer, and May 1st for Fall, which doesn’t really match up with what every website is telling me. Can someone explain to me what is correct?
Ucf has rolling admissions. Meaning you can apply anytime basically to be considered for that specific term as long as you apply before deadline. You should apply however before October to have a chance of getting in. UCF has rolling admissions so they fill their freshmen year spots and after those spots are filled up, they stop accepting.
If I didn’t make sense, I will try to explain it again.
So you’re saying that my application will still be valid, but my chances if I were to apply now before the March 1st deadline would be very slim?
“if I were to apply now before the March 1st deadline would be very slim?”
It depends upon your stats, and on what sort of yield they get. It might also depend upon whether you are okay being full pay. I don’t think that any of us can fully predict what will happen if you apply now. As of now in general most universities don’t actually know how many of the students that they have accepted will in fact attend. As they find out, more spots may become available.
Generally it is better to have all your applications in before now. However, there are still some universities accepting applications and some students will apply to some good schools after today and get in. There are sometimes in March (maybe April?) a few posts of “I didn’t get in anywhere that I am willing to attend” and some good suggestions for schools that are still accepting applications.
For the best chances of getting in right now for UCF, should I apply for fall or summer?
Apply for summer just in case, a lot of students with strong stats have been offered summer because they did not get into fall
