<p>Hey guys! I'm Wisconsin, USA and I'll be starting as a freshman at Deerfield in the fall. I'm really kinda lost now that I have so many unanswered questions. What should I bring? How large is the average dorm? Are kids truly as friendly as they seem? What is general life like there? If there is anyone who could help it would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>Well since it’s boarding school…everyone that I’ve talked to has said to be careful because gossip spreads like wildfire. Not so say that it doesn’t happen in a regular school…but you LIVE with everyone. I’ve been told that it’s good to bring one of those over the door hangers in order to have easy access to your coats and you may also want to think in advance about accessories for your laptop.</p>
<p>Do you think it’d be best to have a bookbag or giant purse? I’m leaning more towards the bookbag…</p>
<p>That was something that I was thinking that would happen. Like you said, it’s probably magnified because you live next door to everyone. I know that rather than carry around my giant purse, I’m going to opt for my bookbag. I wouldn’t want a strap to get damaged because of the sheer weight of the items it carries.</p>
<p>This has probably been covered before, but how’s the size of a room in one of the newer dorms? I stayed in my guide’s dorm in one of the older buildings on my second day visit, but I didn’t get to go see the dorms/bathrooms of the newer buildings. Any insight into how they are?</p>
