<p>Hey everyone I was just watching the Deerfield Admission Video (for like the tenth time) and I noticed something. Pause the video at exactly 15:51 and you'll see that an adult is showing the kid a piece of paper presumably telling him what to say. You look at it and you be the judge. NOTE: I mean no offense to Deerfield. It's one of my top choice schools and it's an incredible school. I just find it funny when schools make mistakes in presenting their admission material. </p>

<p>Deerfield is a great school. My kiddos applied - it wasn’t their first choice but I’m sure they would have been well educated there and on our visits the kids seem truly happy. But dang…could you get any preppier than Deerfield? Do they dole out those ubiquitous pearl earrings at freshman orientation? ;)</p>

<p>not to mention the Vineyard Vines shorts, bowties/ties, and belts. You show on your first day and you get your class schedule or what have you and they just hand you a big box filled with clothes</p>

<p>Still, my son and I found this DA film to be the best promo piece during our prep school hunt last year. It is very well done.</p>

<p>Yeah this video in my opinion was the second best video that any school put out. But IMHO Exeter’s seventeen minute long video was the best.</p>

<p>Exeter’s videos were so repetitive though. I hate when schools do that thing where they have one sentence and it takes 10 kids just to say the entire thing. ughhh such repetition truly bored me as I watched all of the admissions videos.</p>

<p>I hate watching admission videos, they are so scripted and fake. I honestly don’t think I’ve even seen any videos for the schools I’m applying to.</p>

<p>I think it’s so much fun to watch admissions video even if you don’t want to go to the school. However, they can get really boring and vapid when a bunch of kids are saying the same thing</p>

<p>@ifax: I agreee that Exeter’s 17 minute long was pretty good, but I think they should update that and do a better one…one like Deerfield!</p>

<p>In my opinion, I’d say that the videos give an overview, but it’s definitely too scripted. The best thing is definitely a visit to the school. True, the students are all amazing like the video, but there’s a difference. You get a feel for the school. Like Hotchkiss seemed perfect for me on the website…but for me (and again for ME, not others) I hated it when I went there. It was too “woodsy” and too far off from other places for me. I like Exeter because it’s nestled into a little town, but it’s still walking distance to town. :slight_smile:
Just my thoughts.</p>

<p>I like the admissions videos for the pictures of the campus. The Deerfield one has parts in the rooms!</p>
