Only just noticed this... but deerfield has a new look website.
what do you think?

I like the new Deerfield site a lot The old site is actually what put me off it for a while, shallow I know. :P

I like the slideshow :p

Rad-in-Plaid, same here!!! The old website was really…crappy I guess the new site is soo much cooler :)

It makes me want to apply to deerfield now. haha

I looooove the video “10 things I love about Deerfield”
thats what helped me make my decision on whether to apply or not…
and now it’s my first choice ahaha

haha same 2010 ;)

Deerfield is so…blonde though. Not that that’s bad, but I checked out their FB page and like a LARGE majority is blonde.

I think Deerfield may be a little too white for me. I am not trying to be racist since I am white also but it just seems like they are very traditional and less diverse. Is there anyone who goes to Deerfield or knows more about Deerfield who can change my mind?

^^agreed. not that i mind but I’d like a little more diversity.

oh, and tons of kids seem to be from western CT (darien, new canaan, etc) or new york… but it’s an excellent school, i’m sure. i don’t mind their website either way eheh. their new website seems a tad bit sterile, if you understand what i mean… it’s nice and organized, though, so i won’t complain any further :)

I get what you mean. It is like a sterile hospital. haha

No BERKSHIRE is like a sterile hospital! o.o that’s why i didn’t apply lol too ‘clean’
also on the clean note- they had uniformed maids in their (grey) hotel style dorms that were key card and punch-code locked!

luckily i don’t think DA is like that. They have that colonial feel going on.

2010–I would never try to change your mind, but each school “fits” kids differently.

My d is African American and felt fine at DA and has thus decided to attend. As an African American parent I did the research and found all the schools in which we applied more diverse than the general population.

At the academic level of some of these bs we were more interested in school quality than how many of a group it had.

I will agree all school are not for every student, regardless of background.

Due to my d’s academic background she has always been one of a select few so the bs communities don’t matter to her at all.

The new website is definitely better than the last one, also it’s more like SPS’s.

EDIT: but I just realized that the information is still the same. :D
