Defer from Auburn, What are my Chances?

<p>Hello,</p>

<p>I have just received notice that I have been "defered for further reveiw" from Auburn University (Main Campus). I was just wondering what that means, my chances of getting accepted, when I will hear back, and what I can do to try to aid my possible acceptance. Auburn is my absolute number one choice, anywhere else just doesent seem right. </p>

<p>My unweighted GPA is 2.8 and my weighted GPA is 3.8. I have taken 9 AP classes throughout high school. My Math SAT score was a 560 and my Critical Reading score was a 460. I plan to take the ACT in december. I have been very involved in extracurriculars. I am a leader for many clubs, I have started two clubs, I went to a diversity/leadership camp, and I played four sports during high school (3 of which I was a captain for). </p>

<p>I know my transcript is not at all impressive and I probably dont compare to all of the other applicants, but I was just wondering if there was anything else I could do to try to get into my dream school? I really appreaciate everyone who gives me their time and an honest answer.</p>

<p>I think that if you show improvement in your courses the next two quarters and study for the ACT, you definitely have a shot.</p>

<p>Obviously, there’s something about you that kept you in their minds and they just deferred you for RD. Not a big deal, don’t give up!</p>
