I got in to LSP! Yay! I know!
And now, my family is not letting me go. I live in Pakistan. And NYU has been my dream for quite some time. And at this moment im the ONLY one who got in to a respectable American University in my school. Becasue people with perfect scores and all As got wait listed at places like Middlebury. I know. Weird. But yeah. best candidate in my school at the moment. With an 1880 and an 1890 superscore and a 1110 SATII score. So thats pretty hot. And im 17 at the moment. Which, with an international students status means i get offered the international sites. But because im 17, i got the NYC site. So YAY again! So my family is convinced that im too young to leave. and yes. ive tried ALL the logics and theorems about the college experience and how im not the only one whos doing this. But they refuse to yield. So now im considering deferral. With only THREE days left =S
So these are two ways i ca defer.

Deferred Admission: Students who are approved for this delayed entry option and who satisfy the requirements listed below do not have to file a new application and are guaranteed readmission for the semester approved in their Delayed Entry Program Application. Deferred students pay a tuition deposit for the original term of entry, which will be credited to the new term of entry. In addition, deferred students are considered Early Decision (single-choice) applicants for the new term of entry, and as such are expected to confirm their intention to enroll when the other Early Decision students do so.

Updated Admission: Students who are approved for this delayed entry option and who satisfy the requirements listed below do not have to file a new application and are reconsidered for admission for the semester approved in their Delayed Entry Program Application. Updated students are considered Regular Decision applicants for their new term of entry, and are not guaranteed readmission.

Requirements for the NYU Delayed Entry Program:

a) A student who wishes to delay admission must sign and return the NYU Delayed Entry Program Application and Agreement form.

b) The delay in enrollment may not be used to attend another college or university. (If it is, a new application for admission as a transfer student must be filed and the student will no longer be considered a delayed entry student.)

c) Delayed admission is contingent upon successful completion of any high school course work in progress at the time the delayed status is granted. A final high school transcript indicating date of graduation must be forwarded to the NYU Office of Undergraduate Admissions immediately upon graduation. It is the students responsibility to ensure that an official, final high school transcript is received by the admissions office.

So with the above information in mind. Please voice your opinions on what i should do...? and also. tell me what you think this means. "b) The delay in enrollment may not be used to attend another college or university. (If it is, a new application for admission as a transfer student must be filed and the student will no longer be considered a delayed entry student.)" Cuz mu family wants me to stay here for two years. and then transfer. and considering the american university slaughter atmy school, i am VERY lucky to have NYU as my option. But they dont get that. They want me to stay and transfer after TWO years. =S. So please tell me what you think. Also dont hesitate to ask questions if youre unclear about anything.

I know im ranting. But with only THREE days to go. I think i have the right =P
