Deferred ED and now?

My D was deferred ED and has not yet heard anything. Anyone have any insight as to if they hand deferred’s differently than RD

When they defer you, they move your application into the RD pool and decide from there.

You should be getting something in a few days... Or you can check the Agora if you have that "6th tab".

Have been checking Agora and no 6th tab - I realize this doesn't look good but thought we would have heard by now oooorrr knowing BC sends out in waves does the tab change when letter goes out?

Sorry for your daughter, but it's likely that she didn't get in. Everyone here who has been accepted has had the "6th tab" on their Agora page. I haven't heard of any exceptions to this rule so far. This "tab" was added back on March 24.

I am certain your daughter will get in somewhere decent. BC is not for everyone, and even for me, it's more like my fourth choice.

Just heard today and she was waitlisted --- prolonging the agony! she will likely go on the waitlist - her senior grades continute to be awesome 4.0 with 4 ap's and 2 honor courses at a very very competitive prep school. SAT's are a little weak though (1300 / 1980) and that was with taking them several times (standardized tests are the worst for her)
thanks for your input

I got accepted with a pretty weak SAT score myself, (1300/1890) which is even lower than your daughter's score. In my opinion, getting into BC is like getting into an Ivy - it's a crapshoot - sometimes they'll take you - other times not.

^^^^

I second that. Good luck to your daughter!

^ I third that. Haha. My friend got in with 1110/1640 SAT. BC is not old BC anymore. really competitive and sometime they catch the so called "Tufts Syndrome"

Ok that all being said (Congrats to you both on acceptances) do you think they would look more favorably on a deferred EA waitlisted RD when pulling from the waitlist? I have read on a few other threads that colleges try not to waitlist previously deferred students for the very reason of not prolonging the agony. thoughts?

ooo and those grades are unweighted.

Deferred EA simply means she wasn't competitive enough to be admitted through EA. So in that sense, I doubt there is predilection for students pushed into the regular pool. So the only thing for your daughter to do now is to follow the WL guidelines, whatever they may be, and hope for the best.

It's all quite sporadic, really.
