Deferred from Harvard?

Hello everyone,

Harvard College admissions this year was more competitive than any other year! They got over 20% more applicants for early action this year.

What does being deferred mean with Harvard? Do they just want to see their regular pool and then admit off that?

After being deferred, is there still a chance at being admitted? What can I do to help be admitted in the regular round?

Does calling and asking what you can improve you application or what the weak spots were annoy admissions?

Also, if accepted to Harvard I will definitely attend, no matter what. Should I tell them that?

I don't want to post my stats but I have a lot of friends who were admitted early with similar stats as me.

I am working on other apps and trying to remain optimistic about this. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to reply. I really appreciate it!

We had 16% chance with Early. Now it will be less than 3% chance (100 people from the deferred 4,292) with Regular. Won’t be optimistic

You have 20 days to concentrate on all your other apps. You should move on and not pay attention to Harvard app anymore.

^^^ this

Thought this might help those who were deferred.
