So I just got deferred from UIUC today can't say I wasn't expecting it though. I have a composite score of 28 on the ACT but my GPA wasn't very good cause of last year's grades (3.2 UW) what are my chances of still getting accepted at this point? On the application status its says I can't really do anything and just wait so I guess my semester grades this year won't be taken into consideration. :/

Yep I was deferred too, 33 act 3.8 gps not sure why or what it means…

What are you guys intended major?

I applied to LAS as a math major but I got one D last semester so that brought my GPA down significantly

Comp sci. Competitive but I thought I was safe

^ Computer Science in Engineering or the other 2 computer science in LAS?
Anyway, they are all very competitive programs and I expect the mid 50 to be around 31-34 with average GPA at ~3.9 for admission. So your ACT should be above average but GPA below. Are you from oos? I think you should be a match to high match. You may be accepted later on.

UIUC math: Match

Yes i’m OOS, read on the blog that they admit “well over 50% of deferred students,” hope I make that cut atleast… :(
