Deferred in EA at UGA chances at regular decision?

I am a white male hoping to get into UGA fall 2011. I applied for EA but was deferred to Regular admission process. I was wondering what are my chances of getting accepted into UGA. It is my favorite and #1 choice.
SAT: 1160/1630
GPA: Is about a 3.75 or so with 3 AP classes (AP European history, AP US history, and Calculus). *my school doesn't offer many
I have excellent ECs including working in New Orleans Tennis Captain for 2 years (played all years) Interact all 4 years (been president and secretary) I have countless volunteer jobs i have done and have done a lot of many other things I cant think of at the moment.

Your issue is the SAT score. One of my sons applied to UGA within the past 3 years with an 1160 on CR and M, but with a 630 on the Writing (much higher than you), outstanding extracurriculars (e.g., captain of the football team, student leadership council, etc.), from a top UGA feeder school, and as a legacy – and he was rejected in regular decision. He was accepted to FSU (tough for non-Florida residents), Clemson, Elon and a number of other solid schools, but not UGA. Hope you fare better.

Man I hope I have a shot. I was debating on taking the SAT one last time or not

The rest of your profile looks good. Your SAT (CR and M) is about 70 points below the UGA median of about 1230. But my #2 son just got rejected by UGA, and he had a 1360/1950 on the SAT, including a 750 on the CR – so go figure. Admittedly, his GPA and ECs were pretty weak by UGA standards. If I could have merged #1 son’s GPA and ECs with #2 son’s SAT, then I’d have something! Good luck.

Ha yeah if only I could do that. I was debating on taking the SAT again and focusing on Math and writing but I am not sure if it will make much difference since I can only hope to bring my Math up to 600-630 but I am not sure if it is worth doing… Do you think if I had a 1200 or so would that increase my chances?

Absolutely. And UGA superscores, so taking it again can’t hurt.

But would it make that much of a difference

I think it will be very helpful if you can get each of the CR and M to over 600.

yeah I know I could get math but CR not so much just have to figure out how i am going to improve it.
