Deferred Students

@fruitsnacks1234 mine too! So nervous

Just checked my communication center and there’s nothing there… don’t think it’s going to be good news :frowning:

I fail to see the point of these transient changes in the application tracker. Seems like a bug in their software that just stresses people out. Completely unnecessary.

I believe every time it changes to “being very carefully considered” the applicant has received their decision by the end of the night. Not sure if it’s a good or a bad sign though.

Everyone here has suffered a lot. I hope you all get in! :slight_smile:

@fruitsnacks1234 does your communication center say anything?

@jkirsy nothing :frowning:

I was waitlisted on 3/17. Does anyone know if the decisions comeback before 4/15?

@jkirsy @fruitsnacks1234 Remember, the communications center usually only updates around 9:00-9:30 PM the day of the change.

@JohnStamoskian1 You’re right! Completely forgot about that! Thank you!!

@elmi365 All they say is that they will notify waitlisted students BY 4/15, so my guess is many students will hear back before then.

Does anyone know how much they usally let off from the waitlist?

Waitlisted.

Waitlisted

has anyone been accepted after being deferred?

How many out there are still ONLY deferred? Maybe they are going alphabetical or something.

My DD was deferred in January and is still deferred. She applied to engineering and her last name begins with “A”. MyU has said this since January, “Defer: Our committee has completed its holistic review of your application and has not yet made a final decision. Applicants who are deferred are neither admitted nor denied, and will be reconsidered for admission. Our additional review will focus on your application materials, the competitiveness of the pool of applications submitted, and the number of spaces available in each college. You do not need to take further action at this time; we will provide you with an update on your decision by March 31st. At that time the possible admission decisions are admit, waitlist, and deny. Complete information about the University’s holistic review process is provided online.”

That is the same wording that appears in my son’s portal.
