Hey, my friend was recently deferred from Rice University, and I was wondering if there was anything she could do.
I’ve heard of some people who send letters to the school. Could you guys explain to me what exactly you put in these letters?

<p>The important thing is to note that deferral is not rejection; it is just not a clear EA acceptance. If it is the students first choice, you can send a letter affirming that and you can also keep the school informed of any later accomplishments that are relevant. I'd advise a considered letter, not just a knee jerk one, and hopefully there is a Senior year sucess to include. Try to think why you are borderline and address it.</p>
