Hey I applied to transfer a handful of places but I might end up staying even if I get into some of them.. is there anybody else like that out there? Every1 I have talked to wants the hell out no matter what.

If I didn't get in anywhere, I would take a year off and go to school in France or England the following year (2009).

Yeah, I feel the same way. I might end up staying. Don't know. Ugh. It's weird because when I was applying, I was so sure I'd go. But now...who knows.

My D feels the same way. She had some big doubts this winter and knew that she had to apply for transfers then in order to have a choice this spring. There are still some things she's unhappy with, but now she's really enjoying herself and is torn about possibly leaving her friends.

Leaving for sure. No more third tier LAC for me thank goodness.

I only applied to two schools (both ivies). If I don't get accepted to either, I'll be spending my junior year in England (I've already been accepted to the program).
I'm positive you'll get in to at least one, AFalcon! :D

I was like that for a little while but then things changed with my current school and I'm leaving for sure now.

Mattering on my FA package at my current school, I might stay. If they don't meet my new need (my EFC went from 20K to 12K this year), I might go to a state school for a year and see what happens.

A little bit of Stockholm Syndrome, eh?

yeah i feel differently each day but with registering for some cool courses for next semester and finding my roommate for housing next year and spring coming around and the possibility of it being my final days as a student here all join together to haves me likin this place more and more plus its a good school...but there was a reason i applied to these 4 schools back in the drudgery of winter soooo we'll see

im one thats for sure leaving

I'm still torn between staying at N.Y.U. and transferring to Cornell.

I love my school and the thought of leaving it breaks my heart :-(

But it doesn't offer the area that I KNOW I want to study, so I'm torn...

Any opinions? Is leaving a school I adore worth the potential academic gains?

I'm FOR SURE leaving. It's funny because a third of the people I talk to at my school want to transfer too... some are, most just complain and are staying. Stupid school.

My S was conflicted all year about transferring. He decided to transfer and is still not 100% sure it's the right decision. Both schools have positives and negatives. Sometimes it's just such a hard decision to make.

FBI...be careful about that decision. If you enjoy NYC you're obviously going to find ithaca to be an entirely different world. I'm leaving cornell bc I cant tolerate being in the middle of nowhere. Some people are cool with it and like the idea of being removed from the hustle and bustle of the real world...and then there are people like me lol. good luck and think through that one carefully. NYU and Cornell are so different.

That's a good point point Elgguj, I definitely think over it carefully.

if i get in somewhere i think il have a very difficult decision to make

speakout93086 - I feel exactly the same way. I go to a business college, and no longer have any interest in the subject. Furthermore, I really miss a lot of the liberal arts classes I was able to take in high school.

At the same time though, I've been having such a great freshman year. This decision is so frustrating...

defnt leaving.
i hate this place
