I’m a 2nd year Microelectronics student at RIT; a degree thats the only of it’s kind in the bachelors MicroE in the U.S.
This is to say its relatively easy to find a job and do R&D in leading fields.
However, my interest has always been wide-spread, I’m really interested in space, aerospace and military development where much of the work I want to do there is done by mechanical engineers. I really want to prove that I have solid mechanical work as well (switched from mechanical recently too), though my major’s coursework is very hands-on and intensive so pursuing a double major is a death wish.
Could a minor in ME possibly benefit me in the future? Or a couple mechanical’ focused classes in aerospace help me? What about mechatronics? Any way I could land a far-future mechanical-based job without a full ME?
