I mean, it's a "safety" or whatever. (I guess I can safely say that 'cause I'm in!! :)) It's a great state school and gives great merit aid. Also, I like it a lot 'cause I did Summer College there (lived there for five weeks, blah blah blah) which was lots of fun. (:

what state are you from?

Me, or the OP? I'm from Maryland.

"what state are you from?"

poseur is exactly that, a poseur, and just posts nonesense on these boards.

it was amusing, but now I see that some of you younger folks are actually trying to gain insight from this person.

what exactly does that mean, airborne? is poseur not truthful? yes, others of us use this as an important resource so hearing 4.0 and 2390 to get in to UD makes a statement-unless it is not the truth.

It is real simple.. UofD is not an ED school. Yet poseur, who is out of state, got an ED from UofD. That is not the only blantant factual error, but it is the easiest to verify.

The only students who get anything similiar to an ED are in-state students, and those are decided as they go through them, not on any deadline.

it never occurred to me that folks would represent themselves here falsely or that there would be anything to gain by falsely participating in these forums. so now I need to not take things on face value. our society is really in sad shape...

I don't know if Poseur (or any of you) is real or not but he/she referred to being a finalist in a scholarship competition, which would necessitate early notification if the interviews are at the end of March and OOS students don't hear till march 15. A lot of colleges do notify scholarship candidates early for this reason.

thats logical. airborne seemed to feel strongly Poseur is a "poser" but don't know why...

Lolz airborne... that was a bit of a hasty assumption.

What Muffy said is right.

I'm from Maryland and therefore was not notified of my decision in early January, when Delaware residents received their decisions. However, on February 9th, I got a letter saying that I was a semifinalist for the University of Delaware Distinguished Scholars (I posted a thread about it: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-delaware/650484-ud-distinguished-scholars.html). Two days later, I got an official letter of acceptance (presumably sent to all out-of-state applicants who were being considered for the Distinguished Scholars scholarships) and posted in this thread.

If you had actually read the rest of my post (and knew that the acronym "OOS" meant "out of state"), you would have understood this.

plainwhitetyler... are you in state?
