DELL Latitude D610 vs Inspiron 600m...anyone have either or can help me decide???????

so which should i get?

the dell latitude 610 is $40 less but the inspiron 600m includes a printer...but that price difference isn't really that significant.

i was leaning towards the latitude d610.

so which is better built and has better quality? which looks better (just curious)? which is more mobile?

any comments are welcome, esp if you have personally own either one.

thanks

The latitude d610 looks better...
are you going to customize it? or are you just getting the basic version?

i recently got a great deal on an IBM thinkpad, if you're interested. it was the r50e model I think. under $1200 (with tax/shipping) for a gig of ram, fast processor, i thnk 60 gb hard drive, adjustable vid card memory (but takes away from system ram).

i'm customizing it through university discounts. 40 GB, 512 mb, pentium m...

both models come out to around $1300 incl tax/shipping and any other charges.

i'll check again on the ibm, but when i went to the website everything was $1500+ with same specs as i gave the dells.

btw i don't do gaming or huge media movie things or anything like that. just need word, IE, dvd/cd burner, and music.

I would go with dell latitude 610- although there is not that much difference between the two....

P.S- if all you need is word, music, and dvd....do you really need that good of a laptop?

what do you suggest then?

thinkpad....

I got a new dell inspiron 600m about a week ago. It took about 2 weeks to get here because it's brand new or some other garbage the guy said on the phone. haha. I like it a lot. For me it cost a little over $800 with a $300 mail-in rebate and I like the power to size ratio. I know nothing about the Latitude D610, however. I do like the way the 600m looks and am pleased with my decision.
