I was rejected for admission to A&M today. In the letter, they said that they would reconsider my application for the fall semester if I submit my transcript by a certain date and if there is still space in my program.
My biggest question is: what do I do now?
There is a lot of stuff on the internet about appealing, writing letters of reconsideration, and contacting counselors to find out why the person was rejected. Which of these do I do? Is it customary to thank them or something?
Furthermore, what does their message even mean? Is there really still a chance or are they just letting us have one more month of hope?

They want to see how you finish in your final semester of High School. The best bet is to contact the admission counselor and make sure they know you are still interested in being admitted. Then submit your final transcripts.

I hope you have a backup plan…
