Thank you @Midwestmomofboys, that was very helpful. My daughter is looking forward to a visit at the end of the month. It’s between Trinity College, Gettysburg and Denison. I think Denison is showing more promise and innovation so I have a feeling, she’ll end up there.
Accepted! Not really a top choice- did interview and visit though. 3.2 uw 3.7w, huge upward trend though and EC’s/essay I think helped.
@frutsun we’re thinking about Denison and Gettysburg too! But waiting on a couple more decisions before we commit to traveling to either school.
Saw this on the Denison site – 34% acceptance rate this year (down from 37% last year); of the admitted students, 20% Pell grant eligible, 20% first gen, 36% multicultural.
S18 accepted. He wanted to love it when he visited, but didn’t. Also, low on merit amount, so not attending.
Accepted w/ 23k merit aid. Denison was my first choice so I have already enrolled.
My D and I visited Denison yesterday and we were both blown away by the campus engagement. Coming from California, where people are generally not terribly friendly, my D thought the campus community was incredibly welcoming and genuinely so. The only college campus that reminds me of Denison is Hamilton College (very similar student body), a college my D seriously considered but due to its isolation, did not in the end. I think Denison has moved to the top of the list!
@frutsun What a great report! We are visiting later in April thanks to “Air Denison” and looking forward to it.
