Also they gave me 22,000 we are trying to get at least 5,000 more out of them!
@Leahshif Congrats! Ist that $22k in merit award, or need-based? If merit award, the “tiers” are fixed, and there doesn’t seem to be wiggle room in getting more merit. If it is financial aid, of course, the sufficiency of that is the only reason to be able to de-commit to binding ED.
For the ED1 applicants – Denison seems to release ED decisions on a rolling basis, rather than hold them until the notifiation date, so you may hear within a couple weeks of applying. Good luck, and congrats to those already admitted!
Rejected, international huge aid gz to all accepted.
@Eslam Gamal I’m sorry to hear that. Do you have other US options on your list? Earlham, about 45 minutes east of Indianapolis, in Indiana, has a large international student presence, and has non-binding EA, with the EA application due in early January, I believe, rather than the typical Nov 15 deadline.
@Midwestmomofboys Thanks for your concern, I emailed earlham but they do not offer generous aid to international students.
And yes, I’m applying to several other schools like conn college. Hoping to get a shot.
@“Eslam Gamal” I did not realize that about Earlham, that is too bad. Good luck to you, hang in there, it is a very stressful process!
I got in!! I’m so happy rn. Can’t wait to get more info!
@“Eslam Gamal” you applied ED as an international student and was rejected. Sorry to hear. I am also international bit planning to apply EA. I am on this thread cause none exist for EA and this thread offers present insight
Now I feel my chances are the same cause I plan to go test optional and need HUGE AID TOO and I just got notice that Denison is need aware which can affect chances. I also had to remove Earlham cause aid is not generous.
@Leahshif isn’t the overall tuition with fees etc around 60,710 and a $22-30k aid is okay enough for you. I would need way more as an international
Hey! @“Eslam Gamal” I’m so sorry! I completely understand what you’re going through…but that’s so shocking. Denison was one of my lower target schools owing to the fact that they give generous aid…I applied RD real early, with test scores because they were alright…now I’m panicking!! Mind sharing your stats? I don’t even know anymore…
@lizbeth99 I got around $18k, and I had a 33 on the ACT. My GPA wasn’t really good but im pretty sure my Above Average ACT scores and my recommendations made up for it
Hey @slaythedogma, I have 3.91-4/4.0 GPA, STEM student, 7.5 IELTS band score. I was depending on my research pathway as I was an ISEF finalist and really interested in research. I wish you best of luck, no need to worry.
@lizbeth99, there’s no way anyone can predict the outcome of your application, you might get accepted (I hope), tbh I applied to Denison as it has good admission rate for early decision applicants.
Hey I applied ED and sent my application on Nov. 15th (the due date) but I had everything completed by that time (CSS app, FAFSA, school resume, all my letter of recs, went test optional). I still have not received a decision and I’m wondering if anyone who sent their app in around the same time as me has received an answer yet!!
My friend sent in his application on Nov 15 for ED and got accepted on Nov 21.
Denison seems to do a kind of rolling ED, seems to be roughly 2-4 weeks usual turn around, though obviously can be faster. If it is consistent with past years, the portal will have the electronic announcement, and then the hard copy arrives some time later. Good luck!
@r0h33zy Congrats! How were your stats?
@KhiaMalifa my GPA was not too good but I had a lot of Ec’s that were good and a really good ACT score, and I made sure my essay and letters of rec were all stellar
