DePaul Anyone

Lets now agonize over this one,I was told the 15th!!!!

Yep, that’s what were told, too. I am really not good at the waiting…

At this point its all we can do!!!

Interestingly, my D is handling the waiting much better than I am. Of course, she is up to her eyeballs with her Spamalot opening, so I guess that’s good!

I know have to keep busy I start rehearsals tomorrow for my first paying show,so excited!!!

Waiting waiting Depauls my #1,who’s with me!!!

Good luck to all - hope there is news today for you!

Fingers crossed for you Londream!!!

I loved the DePaul auditions, even though my son didn’t get a callback, and he had a great experience with their faculty. We will be so interested to see the final results–good luck to all!

Interesting. My son’s audition at DePaul was horrible–not his actual monologue–but the way he was treated by the woman auditioning him. Everything the head of the theatre department said in his speech to all the students and parents before their monologues not only did not happen (" only concentrate on your one monologue that you’ve been working on–that’s all we are expecting, stress should not be part of your vocabulary today!"), but the woman auditioning him could not have been ruder to him. Thankfully, not only was he already having misgivings about their program, but his next auditions with 2 other schools were wonderful, with really nice and encouraging people. And he got an offer of placement in a BFA program within one day after auditioning with one of these subsequent schools.

DePaul was really disappointing in other ways–they seemed so disorganized–never recorded or updated his web account on his documents received, and once told me over the phone that that his letters of recommendate “could” be there, as they had “stacks of documents” they still hadn’t gone through. Each of the other schools my son applied to were really thorough and kept account of all documents received–and one of those schools has just as many applicants as DePaul.

I wish all of you good luck–I think everyone is meant for a certain school and experience, so all will work out as it should.

Do you think they will call us?

Checking past acceptance threads from 2011 cannot find anything from last year. Everything comes snail mail but, on DePauls campus connect admittance may show up. I have spoken to the theatre office and they mentioned results going out around the 15th so mail next week.

Yeah, I keep checking the Campus Connect thing…but there isn’t really a lot for ‘accepted/rejected’ you know? Perhaps the litle “Application Complete” thing will change?

UPDATE:
I just saw this picture from a computer design major, perhaps this will happen:

http://24.media.■■■■■■■■■■/1cdd52e65b9e50bda2cd4b83e00a91d2/tumblr_mjpu3iQ8gI1qawqsmo1_500.jpg

Just our view of DePaul so far - my D is a junior and we have only visited. They were very easy to deal with to schedule our visit. While there we met with a professor who also deals with the admission process. We had him to ourselves for at least a half hour and could ask any questions we wanted. Then a sophomore took us on a tour of the building. It was a really nice visit and we left feeling great about the school. I have had trouble scheduling visits to other schools but DePaul was not one of them.

On your campus connect profile on the far right there is a column that says things to do,right now it should say you have nothing to do,in the past it has changed to tax info to immunization,to admitted student, Good luck !!!

I called the theatre department today and they confirmed all packets were being sent out by the end of today.

Ahhhhh yay!!!

Didn’t receive a letter today. Any news from anyone?

Good luck everyone!!! My D auditioned on campus in November, did not get a callback. Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys!

nothing yet. interview went really well and loved the vibe but I’m really nervous.
