I was wondering if there was any benefit to depositing earlier on. I know some colleges give priority to earlier depositers in first come first serve commodities like dorms, but does it matter at Rochester? Thanks.

Spoke to someone in admissions today. She said that everyone who sends in their deposit by May 1 will be sent a housing packet at the same time during mid to late May. So, the answer to your question is that there is no advantage to depositing early.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Freshmen all register for classes at the same time too–so no advantage there either.

BTW, freshmen do not get to pick their dorm. They’re assigned.

Supposedly you are suposed to be able to state preference dorms, in this residential guide, http://www.rochester.edu/reslife/files/contract_freshmen2010-11.pdf

ED student are the only ones that pick what they want

Just confirming all of the above to be true. Thanks!
