Submitting Deposit Now vs. Later

As I'm sure many people are, I'm waiting for results of other April 1st decisions to decide definitively where I want to attend.

Does anyone have any input of what effect submitting a deposit now versus closer to May 1 would have on housing, or anything else for that matter? Thanks!

I believe that housing for freshmen is assigned based on when they receive your application and deposit, so if you are interested in specific dorms (honors, LLCs, standard v economy etc), the earlier you make your deposit the better. Your deposit is fully refundable up until a certain time and then may be partially refundable; here is a list of their cancellation dates:

I really don’t think it matters (as long as it’s by the deadline of course) but I’m not positive. But when I filled out the deposit I didn’t request an LLC or anything live that. It’s not like the people who fill in the deposits earlier get better rooms. I gave in my deposit May 1st and I got a great room freshman year. I think you should wait for your other schools.
