Does anyone know how many DeSales accepts each year approx. for M/T track?
You may want to post on the MT Majors forum. There are lots of posters there with specific MT program knowledge.

To maisyk: at last October (2015) open house, the director of the DeSales performing arts department said that 100-120 students audition in a year resulting in approx 70-75 offers for admission to the theatre department (remember, potential theatre major students must first be accepted academically by the university). The director also provided a breakdown of theatre majors by area of focus: 10 design/tech students, 5-6 theatre education, 70 musical theatre, 30-40 acting/directing. He described design/technical theatre students as ‘nuggets of gold’ due to the limited number. Hope this helps.
One thing they likely won’t tell prospective students is this:
Aspiring Actors Face Grim Employment Statistics
by Peter Zazzali | Jan 1, 2016
“Presumably, they have their heart set on having a professional acting career consisting of a balance of stage and on-camera work. One wonders if these wide-eyed aspirants are aware of the grim statistics that lay ahead. Equity, for example, reports a weekly employment average of 13.3 % in 2014/15 with a median salary of $7,548. Moreover, the standard Equity actor worked 16.6 weeks this year, well below the 20-week minimum needed to earn health insurance. These figures are NOT an aberration, as similar statistics have reflected the job market for the past four decades. From an economic perspective, it simply doesn’t pay to be a stage actor, and frankly, SAG/AFTRA’s statistics are not much better.”
Data from SAG and AFTRA reveal shifts of theatrical personnel from live theater to movies and television.
