Hi! it’s finally time for us to officially decide where we want to go and I have narrowed my choices down to three. My first choice is CMU design but I am currently on the waitlist, and for now I need to commit somewhere else and these seemed like the best choices for me since I don’t want to abandon academics. Some facts:
-I want to study communications design + (minor) marketing + (minor) comp sci if time permits
-after graduation I definitely want to work in NYC or some other major city
-I’ve only visited VCU but will visit the other two within the next two weeks. (felt okay about the vibe there…I think a traditional campus like the other two would suit me best)
-estimated costs per year (w/ scholarships & FA) are: 59k v. 35k v. 28k
-I’m from the east coast so I’m slightly iffy about going as far as st. louis (some of u are probably laughing) but I’m open to new experiences!
-the most important aspect for me are good internships/job opportunities. That’s my #1 concern so if any of you know the reputation of these schools in job markets I would really appreciate the info!!
-social atmosphere is also very important to me
Overall, I know that college is what you make of it, and that you can succeed anywhere as long as you work hard. I honestly think I would have a good experience going to any of these, but I want to make sure I still make the best decision. If you can offer any advice I would be extremely thankful
