desperate!! ACT and SAT scores!! kinda long but..HELPP!

a junior:
so i've taken SAT practice test so many times includes summer SAT prep, but i never see my scores improve! it only ranges from 1400 to 1600 most of the time never go below or above 1600! i study everyday and correct my mistakes! IDK why this is happening!! am i like slow? or just my study habit?

Eventually i decided to try ACT. From the princeton review book and some other online tests, my scores...fluctuates...1st time i got 21 then 29. then 23 to 25. like its not stable. so im struggling if i should concentrate on studying ACT or SAT. please help! thxx

What do you think is your confidence level during testing? Both tests are very different with the pacing.

What resources do you use? Do you use Blue Book? The Real ACT Prep Guide? Do you use official free practice tests?

How are you studying for SAT vocab?

What math course are you currently taking? SAT tests some Algebra II so if you’re currently taking Algebra II there are a few things you may not be familiar like sequences or factorials, permutations, and combinations.

im not a confident person during the tests…=.= cuz i never get a high score soo…yeah.
i used the blue book, princeton review with 11 practice tests. princeton’s cracking the ACT. yeahh i think its official.
vocab…i just memorize them, then re-test myself after 10 vocabs or so.
im taking alg2/trig right now.

Is there a certain book that is better?

^ Third party stuff like PR and Kaplan and Barron’s are useless when it comes to practice tests and questions (They are ok for brushing up on SAT topics though). Their questions usually don’t reflect the ones asked on a real test.

Always use the Official BB or the Real ACT Prep guide when you want to take a practice test and see where you are.

bump 10 char

For BB, you have access to answers with explanations for all the practice exams. access it with your CB account (sign in [here](https://ecl.collegeboard.com/account/login.jsp;jsessionid=B0trPLTC8GGr5QVr2xJWQpWm98M1W9vNWJ9wp9vwGk0YXLLTQPBd!-1273200797?destinationpage=https://satonlinecourse.collegeboard.com:443/SR/home/bookOwnerArea.do)). I assume you know how to correct your mistakes but you also need to read explanations for questions you got right, especially if you guessed correctly on a problem.

For vocab, just learn about strategies for approaching sentence completion ?s as well as memorizing new words. Go to [SparkNotes Test Prep: SAT Information Center](<a href=“SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides”>SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides) for this.

For writing section just read and learn everything in Silverturtle’s SAT guide.

For test taking, best way to improve your scores is to just keep doing practice tests. And don’t panic about getting a high score. How?

Pardon me, this is not my analogy and is geared to essay writing but the idea is same for getting a high score in my opinion.

Point is, don’t panic about getting a high score. You got plenty of time, just get in the habit of studying on your own and by May or June I’m sure you will get a high score.

okk thank you for the advice!
