<p>I'm applying for transfers this fall out of a community college as a philosophy major. My low gpa is due to a switch in majors, and PTSD from a very personal traumatic experience. </p>

<p>Current gpa: 3.3
Major gpa: 3.75-3.8</p>

<p>Ec: honors program, hours volunteering at a museum and college farm, vice president of a club, small mentoring programs.</p>

<p>I have great recommendations from my philosophy professors and excellent essay writing skills, and will be mentioning my PTSD and major switch in the personal statements.</p>

<p>What schools should I apply to? My hopes are at least UCSD and UCLA, maybe a liberal arts college...what do you think?</p>

<p>LMU could be anything like a safety if you can afford it… but I could say a low reach for UCSD/LA.</p>
