I want to work in nanotechnology.

1) is it better to finish my chemistry degree (3 yrs left)

2) or switch to an IT program for 2 years.

degree route - learn more background knowledge of molecules etc.

IT route - learn more hands on with the machines in lab

think pay will be the same after a few years? job tasks?

also if i do the degree route i can double major in geology the same amount of time so if i don’t like lab work I have another career i can go into without going back to school. help me decide please I’m stressing out.

I would stick with chemistry or maybe one of the engineering - chemical or material science. You don’t need to change your major if you want to go the “IT route.” Just take some CS courses.

Why would you want to major in geology?

well, engineering is out of the question, I didnt make the GPA cut off. i thinking geology cause its something different, so if i dont like working in a lab I have another career choice without having to go back to school. and I’m better at classes where i memorize stuff instead of calculating stuff, but i like those (calculating classes, like chemistry) better. not sure why I’m not doing so well?! i dunno

The tech route is at a different school so i wouldnt just be taking extra classes, i’m in a different program. these courses from the tech program do not transfer to the university, but chances are i’ll get a job quicker i dont know.
