I take AP Biology this year (I’m a junior). My course load is very challenging (4 APs) and for the past 2 years, I have kept up an excellent academic record (All As and 2 Bs). This year, my average for Bio is a 73%, but I still have one more marking period to get it to a B. Of course, I’m going to try my hardest, but I’m terrified that I will end with a C. I put endless work into this course, and I don’t want to see a C on my transcript for the first time. How much do colleges care about one C, if I do get one? Can this eliminate me from schools like Barnard, NYU, and Cornell? My ACT and extra curriculars are impressive
It shouldn’t eliminate you from schools, but a C will definitely look bad on your transcript. However, try to keep in mind that colleges know how hard AP Bio is for a lot of students, and also remember that grades and transcripts aren’t everything; if you have a weak spot somewhere in your application, try to make up for it with a stronger spot somewhere else (i.e. in your extra-curriculars, awards, honors, AP scores, SAT/ACT scores, etc.)
Change up your style-quickly. Sounds tough but a new method of learning can lead to better results with the same effort. Try quizlet- in science courses it works wonders quickly.
