I am completing the Questbridge application and have an extremely strong profile (refugee, first generation, top of my class, own business, own charity, tons of ECs, etc.) I am currently in a pickle. I took the September ACT (I am expecting somewhere around a 31 or 32, yet wish to improve) and my scores were not among the first to be released, so I have no scores on my Questbridge application yet.
Please understand that I am applying to top-tier colleges, such as Columbia and Yale.
What should I do? I have worked really hard on this application, and do not have any test scores (besides a horrible SAT I took last year - 1800). Can I submit scores after the deadline? What happens if my scores are not among the ones released on Wednesday? How much do these scores actually impact my application? I am also taking the SAT this Saturday, can those scores go on my application too?
Sorry for all of the questions, but I’m overly-stressed.
Yes. Don’t worry. Send an email over to the actual Questbridge people to confirm, but I took my SAT subject tests around the same time that I submitted my applications - just put down the date on which you plan to take them, and leave the score section blank.
By the time admissions gets around to your application, they should have a score.
Oh! And make sure you use those free score report things from collegeboard. Those arrive significantly faster to the school than if you send the scores after they are released
@julianstanley how would they have my score? Should I send them to Questbridge directly from the testing agency? Can I edit an application once it has been submitted?
I have a similar question but concerning subject tests that I haven’t taken yet. Should I put down that Im taking them and leave the score portion blank too?
@Yomo710 Here’s a link to the questbridge faq site: http://www.questbridge.org/for-students/ncm-standardized-testing. Look at the “Please Read” section below the normal charts - they say the same thing as I do. It seems like they communicate with the admissions at the colleges that you apply to in order to confirm that you report your scores correctly, so they’ll check up on your scores that are reported after the 28th deadline
