So I got the invitation in the mail and I was wondering what it was about. So if anyone knows about it could they elaborate? And does anyone plan on going? I guess it’s targeted at “AHANA” students only? And it seems as though it is an overnight program

^ Interesting. I’m a URM, no letter in the mail. Though, I live a little bit away from BC. Could you elaborate on the invitation? I hope I get invited - it sounds cool!

Well I live like 15 miles from BC so I got it pretty fast. And they said they were late in sending out the invites due to unforseen complications, and that everyone they invited should get an invitation by the end of next week. But apparently you have to RSVP by April 5th.

Basically i think it is like a 4 day event at BC overnight. They said it goes from Thursday and ends with the admitted eagle day on sunday the 18th. And yeah, I guess it’s only for minorities.

Do you know if they pay for transportation?

I know that they’ll provide transportation from like a bus stop or airport to the campus, but I doubt that they would pay for someone to travel to Boston. You could always ask tho, it wouldn’t hurt

Alright, thanks for the info. Was there a contact on the letter? I was thinking about calling. Possibly. :-P

The number on the invite is 1-800-360-2522 and the email is bonitto@bc.edu

Thank you so much! :)

No problem. Btw. How ridiculous are some people on this forum…

OMG I know! I just read your reply to the other thread. Glad there’s someone on here who is sensible. :)

did u guys also get invited to other admissions events this weekend (apr. 10-11)? i got an invite to bc honors day this saturday but, even tho [i think] i’m an ahana student (minority), i never heard anything about the destination bc weekend thing. it sounds sick and i’d definitely want to attend

do u guys know if bc only send out invitations to one accepted students program even if you might qualify for others?

i doubt it because i got an invite for a similar weekend back in january as well. I think BC will send you an invite to any program you qualify for, although i dont think BC sends out invites to every minority, only some. but i cant say i have any insight as to how they determine who to invite.

you could always try calling the people organizing the event, the contact info is above. i recommend that you do it soon tho, because the RSVP was on monday…perhaps if you live close by you could still find a way in

hey do you know if they are planning on providing transportation to Boston??

Terry, look at the date on the most recent post (besides yours)
