I’m confused. I’m a student of mixed races (hispanic, asian, and white) but I wasn’t invited to any AHANA events…
I am not considered AHANA because I’m part white?

I’m a minority, 100% AHANA and I did not receive anything either. I’m not sure as to the details of being invited to this event, but I would like to know soon as I signed up for a day visit/shadowing program next Monday. Anyone know any details on this Destination BC thing?

Dunno about invites per se, but AHANA welcomes everyone, URMs and ORMs, people of color and people of pallor, faculty, students and staff.

Bluebayou, looking at your past posts, I know you are very knowledgable about BC. Any idea what this Destination BC is or who I can contact about it? It very may well be the thing that sways me to attend the school. Appreciate it!

not really sure, ckd.

I first try the AHANA offices:

Who are invited to the destination BC weekend? I’m an Asian male but haven’t been invited to it…

Well, I read on the Facebook group “Boston College Class of 2015” that some kids had been invited to an AHANA weekend. Perhaps you have to commit before you’re invited? It’s supposedly from the 14th-17th.

I learned about the AHANA DESTINATION BC WEEKEND on another CC post that had a link to the RSVP page and knew I had to pass it along. I didn’t receive an invite, but used the link and RSVP’d to attend the event with my EagleID and some basic info…don’t worry if you don’t get a confirmation right away…in a few hours they’ll send you a confirmation, a tentative activities schedule and a release that needs to be faxed back prior to arrival. I canceled my Day Visit with a Student now that I’ve been confirmed. I was able to complete the RSVP and registration, I don’t think you need to be committed to the school yet, it seems like an event to help us make our decisions easier come May 1st.

The AHANA DESTINATION BC WEEKEND starts on Thursday, 4/14 and lasts until Sunday after Admitted Students Day, ending no later than 4PM. You’re hosted by a student for the weekend including three nights so it should be a great taste of what BC life will be like as you can attend classes and events hosted by different AHANA organizations and live the BC lifestyle. Here’s the link below…thought the more people that can attend, the more I can get a chance to know.

I’m an asian male from NJ looking to study Pre-Med/Bio…anyone else nearby attending? Here’s the website address below to the RSVP, sign up now, it’s first come first serve…good luck and hope it works for you too!
