We're just packing for DT and my daughter is wondering how the girls will dress. Is a casual dress ok or is it jeans or shorts?

We saw jeans & shorts. Match the weather.

Yes. We saw all of the above last year. There is a fair amount of walking on the tour, and then on your own potentially, so whatever has the most comfortable shoes is probably best.

Would she be overdressed in a dress?

I think being comfortable is what is important. We saw a some dresses. This is a college campus and the students tend to not be overly concerned with clothing issues.

Exactly. My D wears jeans, shorts, and sun dresses around campus depending on the weather and her mood that day. A casual dress would be fine if that is what she prefers.

I’m a girl who likes to dress more comfortably, love jeans & tshirts etc. HOWEVER, I noticed (for the first time) at my Orientation last June that lots of girls wear sun dresses. I’m from Chicago so I assumed it was just a Southern thing Naturally I bought a million sun dresses to prepare for Tulane over the summer, and I haven’t regretted it even though I still love my raggedy sweats and tees.

Your daughter certainly wouldn’t be overdressed in a casual dress if the weather permits, just as long as she’s prepared to see plenty of girls wearing frumpy clothes too :p
