Did anyone actually get into U of M without an SAT or ACT test score? so applied test-optional. I got deferred and I didn’t know if it was because I didn’t have a test score as well or if it played a role in it. Since everyone that got in that I heard submitted a test score.
On the UMich EA class of 2025 thread there were many who said they didnt submit scores. Not sure how this works as I didnt think U Mich was totally test optional. I thought that once admitted a score of some kind was required to actually enroll.
Yes, if you self reported scores they would need official for enrollment,
This would be the definition of “not test optional”. Michigan was test optional.
If you self-reported scores, you did not apply test-optional.
If you submitted scores, then you were admitted on data that includes those scores and you need to provide the documentation.
If you didn’t submit scores (test optional), you were admitted on the basis of all your other factors. There’s no need to provide any score data.
so there were people actually admitted without test scores???
hey! a girl from my school went test-optional despite taking the SAT 6 times haha and she got in (+ her GPA was on the lower side) . . . honestly it was a little frustrating for other ppl as many of us had super high stats with test scores and still got deferred the TO girl was a legacy though so that could have played a role
Yeah I did out of state for lsa I got in now my application is getting reviewed for ross
Pretty much every college in the country was test optional this year due to pandemic. That means it is not a requirement to have a test score to apply.
Many students were unable to take any tests. Here in LA my son had all 5 of his SAT dates cancelled beginning with March 2020 through November 2021. His March date was not cancelled until 8pm the night before so he had spent months prepping and stressing and then - no test. He was very upset to not be able to take the test.
The schools have said it will not impact the application to not have scores but I am not sure how that can be true if some kids have scores and others were unable to take the test so have no scores. I feel my son is at a huge disadvantage - he was testing very high on his practice tests - but that is simply the way it goes in the year of Covid.
hey i got in oos without one so its alright
Yes, there were several CC members who posted EA acceptances as test optional candidates. Just check the EA 2025 thread.
Yes, my daughter got in test optional to Stamps and LSA. Her test dates were all canceled.
I got in test optional. It’s not that I couldn’t get a high enough score, it’s just that testing was so limited in my area.
I got into ross and Lsa test optional. Out of state keep pushing
