If u did, are any of you having trouble logging into airbears with it? I am able to get into the calnet login page, but after I type in my info the page doesn't load...

same problem here…

bump, this would be really helpful. same problem

This is what happens when you buy a $99 tablet. Cheap electronics = crappy electronics.

LOL @ hippo50.

Let me guess. You LOVE the iPad.

The tablet costs HP $320 minus probably some bulk pricing. Software, development, etc also adds to the cost. Now they are looking for profit so it’s pricepoint originally was 400/500. I don’t know why the hell they decided to cut it out of the market in less than 2 months, but hey, consumers win.

Well, the iPad is the standard of the industry. And there’s no denying that it’s the most intuitive of the tablets, the most stable, and has the biggest support and resource base. IMO, especially in the tablet market more so than the smart phone market, the iPad is leaps and bounds ahead of what the competition offers.

It’s the standard of the industry because of marketing not superior hardware and software. BECAUSE of the marketing however, it means more developers on apple’s side so you have a lot of more apps on iPad, which is what draws most consumers in along with it’s rather simplistic interface.

it’s a software issue, something about webOS, I’ll just have to wait for that android port

same freaking problem .

I am having the exact same problem! A notification pops up at the top that says I need to log in…and nothing happens when I enter my info…the odd thing I noticed is that if I type the wrong passphrase or calnet id it will notify me it is wrong, when when it is correct-nothing. also if i open the web browser it will also pop up with the authentication page but after i type in my info and try to authenticate it it will pop-up with a message “no internet connection”. super frustrating! has any found a solution for this yet? any idea where we can go (on campus)to get help with this issue?

did anyone come across a solution for this issue?

guess we know why a) it was $99 and b) they dumped it

hey guys i found a temporary solution to this problem

when you open up the browser and ur taken to the calnet login page, click the “calnet change ID application” link below. log into calnet that way, and when u get logged in, ignore the page where u are redirected to (it’ll probably tell u that u already customized your calnet etc…doesn’t really mattter. the point is to sign in to calnet). so when ur taken to that page, just type in another url at the address bar and it’ll take u to the login page again. just click login and it should say u are “already logged in…or authentication is alraedy completed” or something and u should be able to browse the internet now!

the first time i did this, it worked for like 15 minutes and then i got logged out for some reason. but i’ve found that if u restart the touchpad it’ll work again if u repeat the above steps. goodluck.

I tried this today, but it didn’t work for me. Every time I click on that link to set up the ID, the touchpad tells me “no internet connection.” Is this bypass still working for you after the update?

i will try it again later today and let u know. i

bump
Has any one found a solution for connecting to Airbears yet? I’ve heard of downloading the CyanogenMod, but I’d rather not download that since they’re still developing versions of it. I’ve tried the suggest method mention a few posts above, but it doesn’t work for me.

Actually, you might want to check out CM9 (Ice Cream Sandwich/Android). It’s actually pretty (very) stable. Since it’s android, it might actually work properly, and you’ll be able to do so much more with the touchpad anyways.
