It seems that many people on this site were trying really hard to get into an Ivy, sometimes ANY Ivy, just because of the prestige associated with the label, or because their parents wanted them to, etc. Is there anyone else out there who just wasn't interested? Nothing against any of them, they are all great schools, I just had no desire to go to any of the Ivies for some reason, and it seems that I am in a small minority on this site. I'm either going to UNC or UT-Austin, and couldnt be happier. Anyone else?

I would be going to UT or A&M, but I think they're too big for what I'm used to. The Ivies are small, and fit my needs.

I have heard that the students at Harvard and Princeton are unhappy and depressed. I probably also have an animosity towards those schools, because they will probably reject me.

Well it would have come down to UT or Yale for me, but since I didn't get into Yale, I'll be heading to UT and I couldn't be happier!

nah, I'm really more of an average student (3.2/23/1800/little to no ecs) I don't really care too much about prestige, I actually decided to attend a less "prestigious" school over a more 'prestigous" school (BGSU over MSU).

i didn't apply to any ivies cuz i hate all of them. i guess my case is a little extreme but my intended major is engineering and none of the ivies were attractive to me

i think SOME (not all) people who hate Ivies are simply jealous...

No. I wanted to go to an Ivy. They're all great schools. Some of them didn't fit me but I liked many of them.
