is anyone here NOT interested in the ivies?

Because sometimes, it seems like I'm the only one D:

When I applied to college last winter, I specifically chose excellent colleges that were not in the Ivy League. I applied to one Ivy League institution, then regretting it halfway into January. After a while, I realized that such a practice is just as bad as choosing a college just because it's in the Ivy League. I could say that I "conformed" to the "nonconformists."

I didn't apply to any Ivies and didnt think twice about it.

I always thought they were too pretentious for a country boy like me. ;)

I think that a lot of people are interested in the Ivies, but most of them know that they are not the right colleges for them.

I applied to one (didn't get in) and forgot about it the next day. Now, I'm happy with the college I have decided to attend. I think I applied to the Ivy League school just for the heck of it. My heart wasn't really in it.

well I'm interested in two top schools, MIT and Caltech, so that probably discounts me even though they're not Ivies.

but at the same time, I am an extremely technical kind of girl. The Ivies don't really give me the same feel that the technical institutions do.

i didnt even leave home

im not .

I applied to one because I really liked the school itself... not because of the fact that it's an Ivy.

Me. I applied to one, kind of just to see if I could get in, but then I came to my senses and realized the following:

canadian public school tution + scholarships only for use in Canada - one Ivy League education + one fantastic top 3 school here = about $100K less in debt

Not bad.

Not at all. Even if I did have the grades, I would only consider Dartmouth.

I'm focusing on liberal art colleges...that doesn't have TA's.

I usually think it's ridiculous if people apply to every single ivy league. I was honestly only interested in two.

I'll probably be one...I probably won't bother applying to cornell.

i applied to all schools in ca and cornell for the hell of it. i just wanted to see what would happen but knew i a) didnt have the test scores b) could never afford a private school.

i'm not, at all.

I didn't apply to a single ivy.

I'm applying to two. UPenn and Cornell.
I'm mostly interested in Northwestern, which is why I'm EDing... I guess you can say that I'm not MOST interested in Ivies.

i'm not interested in ivies AT ALL. i'm not going to apply to ANY of them this fall..

I'm not interested in them, though I am interested in an equivalent (Stanford). + Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, UCSC. West coast pridddddde.
