Did anyone get in?

Basically the title says it all. Did anyone get decision letters? Or do you know when were supposed to know?

Stony Brook usually sends in letters starting January. Most of my school gets it during the Spring-time.
Since it’s Rolling, you should be getting something in the mail January-ish.
Good Luck!

Not this year. With a January 15 deadline, we won’t be sending out most decision letters until mid-spring. Hang in there!

I think Stony Brook should reconsider this date of notification. My son has received 3 acceptances so far and wants to make a final decision. Why do some SUNY schools notify earlier? I think you are going to see a lot of students choosing other universities due to this late notification date. It is a shame. For what it’s worth I am a Stony Brook alumnus and am really disappointed in this date when other SUNY schools find out much earlier.

^Yeah I don’t get why some schools send decisions so late.
I applied Rolling to SUNY Buffalo Nov 1 because I didn’t want to ED there.
I got a call like the first week of December and they told me they had everything etc and asked if i had any questions. I asked when does rolling decisions go out and they said early march. I mean, that’s just regular decision, why even call it rolling in the first place.

when you say “mid-spring”… do you mean “mid-march”??.. as I thought notices would be out by 4/1? And mid spring really is the end of April. That’s pretty late. I have to agree with the above poster - many of my daughter’s friends already have acceptance letters.

We understand the concern, believe me. This is the first year we’ve had a real deadline (January 15), and as such, we’d like to make our decisions at one time, as a class, and the hope is that we can include scholarship and/or honors program decisions at the same time.

Students have until May 1 to make their deposit decisions; again, we know that this is a tense time for our applicants (and their families), and our plan is to get the decisions out as soon as possible… but we want people to be aware that it could be as late as April 1. It will likely be some time before then, but we didn’t want to give an earlier date that we wouldn’t be realistically able to meet.

Hang in there, and know that we’re working very hard to put the pieces together here to get this stuff out to you all as quickly as possible!
