I’m just curious to see from past/graduated seniors. I know a lot of people say it’s considered a red flag if you don’t self-report AP/IBs, but others say it doesn’t matter in the admissions process.
If this is you, what school(s) admitted you without you self-submitting AP/IB scores?
DD’16 applied to 12 schools, all USNWR ranked 50-125 ish (so mid tier schools). She was accepted to all 12 schools. She had 11 APs. She did not self report a single AP score. A “B” average, mid 20s ACT, normal ECs (band, varsity LAX, NHS) no hook kid.
@jd1209 Yes. On the common app it asks you if you want to report it. You do not have to. If you would like the schools to see your scores you can send them the report through the college board. If you are planning to try to get credit for an AP class so you don’t have to take it in college you will then have to send your university the scores. This usually happens after you have been accepted.
