Did I calculate the AP credits right?

With a 5 on the test, have I calculated my AP credits correctly?

AP Eng Lang 3 credits ENGL 120W
AP Eng Lit 6 credits ENGL 102W and ENGL 105W
AP Calc AB 4 credits MATH 155a
AP Bio 4 credits BSCI 100 and BSCI 101a
AP Chem 8 credts CHEM 102a&b and CHEM 104a&b

Total of 25 Vanderbilt credits, and the English credits would count toward the engineering LAC?

Looks correct.

Except that “The amount of credit that may be awarded corresponds to the course work waived, up to a maximum of 8 hours in any subject area.” [AP, IB Credit and Other Pre-College Credit | Academics | Undergraduate Admissions | Vanderbilt University](http://admissions.vanderbilt.edu/academics/ap-ib.php)

I’m not sure if you have access to YES yet (the enrollment service), but if you do, you can check exactly how many credits you are receiving for your APs.

yes.vanderbilt.edu => Academic Record => External

Remember, however, that “Students of the College of Arts and Science are limited to a total of 18 credit hours earned by any combination of advanced placement, international baccalaureate credit, advanced international credit, and credit by departmental examination, counting toward the minimum number of hours required toward the degree.”

For your case, that means 127 hours will be required to graduate (i.e. after 18 hours, they increase the minimum number of hours required for the degree).

He’s in engineering
