So I'm doing REALLY bad junior year... did I completely screw myself? Here are my grades until now :

Freshman: (Took highest courses I could. No honors courses offered to freshmen.)
English 9: A/A
GeoSci: A/A
US History: A/A
AlGeoStat 2 (1 year ahead): A/B
Gym/Health (required): A/A
Spanish 1: B/B
GPA: 3.75

Sophomore:
Honors Bio: A/A
American Lit: A/A
Intro To Psych: A/A
Spanish 2: B/B
AlGeoStat 3P (higher level, no honors): A/A
Political and Economic Systems: A/A
GPA: 3.83

Projected Junior:
Honors Physical (1st sem) & Cultural (2nd sem) Anthropology: B/A
Spanish 3: B/A
Chemistry (no honors at school): A/A
AP English: A/A
AP Calc AB: C/B (YUCK)
AP World History: A/A
GPA: 3.5 UW, 4.00 W

Are those two B's and C going to screw me?? I honestly wasn't prepared to go from virtually no honors courses to 3 APs and 2 honors my junior year. Not an excuse, I know I screwed up. Will they take it into account if I get my grades up 2nd semester? With those grades my overall will be 3.72 UW, 3.89 W.

My choices are:
-UMich (instate)
-Brown (ED)
-U Chicago
-Cornell
-Amherst
-Michigan State (now my safety...)

Oh and I have really good ECs, recommendations, and really bad life circumstances.

Yeah. Now you won't get into college and end up being a hobo asking for food at every single soup kitchen you pass.

You'll be fine for UMich. Brown, Amherst, Cornell, and U Chicago are all reaches anyways; you could get a perfect 4.0 GPA and it wouldn't matter because your chances would still be the same.

Just remember that Brown has an acceptance rank of like.... 12 percent. That means that 88 percent don't get in, and trust me, it's probably not the end of the world.

dont worry, as long as you write great essays and show improvement in your senior year, you won't have reduced your chances by much. if these grades motivate you to work that much harder on your brown app, they might even have been a good thing!

i got into brown with a 3.67 gpa. granted this is at a prestigious private school, but it does go to show that gpa isnt everything. i also got 4 b's junior spring + senior fall.
