Did I get in?

So I just got this email from UCR:
According to your 2020-21 FAFSA, your parents are tax filers for 2018, but did not yet use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to authorize transfer of their 2018 income tax information from the IRS to your FAFSA. Using this process will expedite your application and financial aid award for the 2020-21 award year.

Follow these steps to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. All tax filer and address information must be entered exactly as it appears on their IRS 1040 form. Once they have completed this process, an updated copy of your FAFSA will be sent to UCR automatically.

Check your 2020-21 financial aid Requirements and Eligibility online on R’Web, and check for any additional documents that may be required to complete your financial aid application.

We urge you to take action on this requirement immediately. No financial aid award can be calculated for you until you complete this process and satisfy any other requirements on R’Web.

I might be going insane but does this mean I got in? My logic rn is that if they are considering FINAID for me that means I got in?

I do not believe there is any correlation between financial aid emails and admissions decisions.

Financial aid and admissions work independently of each other. All applicants are expected to file a FAFSA, so if there are any inconsistencies with the FAFSA or it is missing, people will receive an email with a reminder that updates need to be made etc.

Good luck with your application!

@PLZSTERN2024: No you have not been admitted. The financial aid office is just getting the FA packages ready in case you are admitted. Do not read anything into this and just comply with their request.

@Gumbymom lol I guess Im rlly going crazy over college decisions and trying to find anything
