<p>When I took the ACT as a sophomore, I received a 31, and since I didn't know any better, I chose to send the scores to some schools before even taking the test. Since this was when i was a sophomore, will the schools I apply to use this score for admissions when I am a senior? I do not plan on attaching it to the common app, because I received a 2200 on a recent SAT. Even if they do see the 31, will it hurt me? I already posted this thread in the SAT/ACT section, but now I realize it has more to do with the admissions process than the actual tests themselves.</p>
<p>It shouldn’t hurt you, they apparently look at the best scores you send them. Plus, a 31 is a respectable score anyways. PLUS, you took it in sophomore year, which was a while ago. It’s possible they may not even have it on file from two years ago…</p>
<p>I am banking on them not having it on file. I am not positive that i sent it, but I definitely may have. But isn’t it like a jury, where even though they say they will not consider some evidence, they still have seen it, and are irreversibly biased?</p>
<p>I can’t answer that definitively, but the admissions people aren’t out to get you, as you might think. They would like to see you in your best light. I mean, does one test score taken on a Saturday morning really reflect the student all that well? Don’t worry too much about it.</p>

<p>Yes, admissions people do work like your jury like in your example. But when your SAT is 2200 and this is a 31 ACT from sophomore year, it will not have any impact on them. </p>
<p>Now, if they saw a 2200 and a 26, it’d make them question you even though they only “consider” the highest score.</p>
<p>well, I got a 1460 CR+math, so that translates to a 33. So Pancaked, in your opinion, a 31 vs a 33 is not enough of a big deal for them to even question me (assuming they still have the score anyway, if I even sent it

<p>wouldn’t even bat an eye. Submitting your scores early is usually just for recruitment purposes anyway.</p>
