I'm still living in disbelief that I was accepted into UC Berkeley. Don't get me wrong, I've worked my ass of in high school, but lately I've been waiting and waiting for a letter from UCB informing me that they made mistakes with admissions.

How probable is my thinking? Wouldn't they have already informed admitted students about mistakes?

I’m so grateful. I’m going to use Cal as a new start to life. I don’t want to make the mistakes I made in high school. It’s so invigorating and refreshing to know UCB is waiting.

yeah lol i dont want to make the same mistakes i made in high school too. i always went on the laptop when i had to study and stuff. i feel like it was a mistake that i got in too but i guess i shouldn’t curse it! im just worried about notifying them about dropping 2 of my college classes that i listed on the app.

im so glad that i got in but its completely weird. i dont get why they chose ME out of others!

Berkeley didn’t make a mistake. You’d be amazed at the kind of training the readers have to go through and how much effort is put into reading the application (in addition to the applicant information, Berkeley also looks at contextual information including HS profiles and over applicant pool stats). The readers eat, sleep, and breathe applications for a month every year, so they definitely didn’t make a mistake.

@UCLA77, thanks for tracking me down! The “Welcome to CAL Summer Receptions” should be hosted by the alumni clubs in each area. I’ll get in touch with the clubs in the greater LA area sometime in early June to get everyone started.
